Arts in Education Projects
For many years the Ontario Arts Council has supported me in Art and the Artists in Education and Project Programs. I greatly appreciate their assistance that allows me to work with many schools and students throughout Toronto and surrounding areas. I have worked on various projects with students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
My teaching philosophy is an extension of my personal artistic vision, one, that motivates students to develop environmental values through research, discussions about cultural diversity, endangered ecosystems and animals through the creative process.
By learning and utilising a variety of art techniques and skills and by exploring mixed media, the students are able to creatively express their ideas and feelings. They also learn to work together and to support each other during the processes and completion of the project.
"Dara demonstrates creative professionalism and a co-operative and dedicated attitude in working with students and staff."
